The Tall Ships have visited Rhode Island a total of six times since 1976 and our company has provided memorable sightseeing tours for each one of them. We strive to provide passengers the best experience possible on all of our cruises; many of our passengers are returning customers who have sailed with us before. Below are our cruise operations:

Southland Riverboat

Board the Southland in Galilee and you will begin an 11 mile narrated nautical tour that people have been talking about for the past 35 years. This tour gives you an opportunity to see some of the most beautiful scenery in all of New England! You’ll view such sights as the Historic Point Judith Lighthouse, the protected waters of the Harbor of Refuge, beautiful beaches, as well as a glimpse of Block Island. You will see the 2nd largest working fishing port on the East Coast with offshore draggers, lobster boats and sport fishing vessels. Many of the sport fishing boats sail past us and quite often, the prize catches of Tuna, Swordfish and Shark can be viewed from our decks.

You’ll explore the 11 islands and many pristine coves and inlets throughout the length of the largest Salt pond in all of Rhode Island, the “Point Judith Pond.” You will see classic New England Homes, colorful sailboats and the local fisherman digging for clams & quahogs. If you’re a bird lover you’re in for a real treat! You may see turns, Gulls, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Osprey, Cormorants, Canadian Geese, Snowy Egrets, White Swans and if you’re lucky you’ll see an elusive Blue Heron. Southland’s secret is that she is something unique and memorable to each of her passengers. For over three decades folks have enjoyed our breathtaking views; it really is a great way to spend an afternoon in the sunshine enjoying the cool salt air breezes. There is no other cruise like it in Rhode Island!

Martha’s Vineyard Fast Ferry

Rhode Island Fast Ferry, Inc. d/b/a Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry established a Fast Ferry service in 2003 between Quonset Point, Rhode Island and Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. We operate the largest, most luxurious fast ferry to Martha’s Vineyard operating at over 40+ MPH, accommodating 400 passengers, bikes, luggage, and light freight. More than just a normal ferry, this Fast Ferry is truly a unique travel experience, offering first-class amenities and an incredible scenic ride along the Rhode Island and Massachusetts coastlines. Our fast ferry service allows visitors the ability to save a lot of time by eliminating the need to drive through summer traffic congestion and highway construction in Providence, Fall River, New Bedford and the busy Bourne Bridge on Cape Cod. Traveling on our fast ferry from Rhode Island can save you between 2 and 3 hours of travel time each way compared to the other ferries in Massachusetts.

Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry has set a new standard in getting to and from Martha's Vineyard. We are the new marine highway connecting the most popular island off the New England coast to Rhode Island and acting as a catalyst for tourism activity, economic development, and job growth in both locations. We will continue to strive to make getting to and from Martha's Vineyard as convenient as possible.
